Working with this format outside of its native software is highly restrictive. The primary disadvantage of the .icpr format is that it is a closed, proprietary workspace container rather than a standard image file. It cannot be viewed in web browsers, standard operating system image viewers, or professional suites like Adobe Photoshop. This creates severe bottlenecks if you need to share a draft with a client or integrate the graphic into a software build.
To make this file useful, you must convert the project to widely supported target formats like ICO (for Windows software), PNG (for web and cross-platform use), or ICNS (for macOS). During this export process, working layers are flattened into a standard image, meaning project editability is lost.
