About IBADR files

An .IBADR file is an IsoBuster Address File created by IsoBuster, a highly specialized data recovery software developed by Smart Projects. It works alongside an IBDAT file to store the specific physical sector addresses of data blocks from a problematic or failing drive. These files are rare, specialized debugging dumps used to reproduce read errors for the developer's support team without needing to image an entire multi-terabyte drive. Users often stumble upon .IBADR files when troubleshooting failing disks and mistakenly assume they are standard, mountable disk images like ISO or IMG. However, an .IBADR file only contains block address references, not the actual recovered files or media. It is entirely proprietary, useless without its paired IBDAT file, and locked to the IsoBuster ecosystem.
