About HDT files
The .HDT file extension represents a Photoshop HDR Toning Preset file. It stores custom adjustment parameters used in Adobe Photoshop to map 32-bit high dynamic range (HDR) images down to 16-bit or 8-bit, or to simulate an HDR effect on standard photos. The main disadvantage of the .HDT format is its highly proprietary nature. It requires an expensive Adobe subscription to open and utilize. Because these files do not contain actual image data, but merely mathematical sliders and curve adjustments, web browsers and generic image viewers cannot read them. Users frequently get frustrated trying to convert an .HDT directly into a .JPG or .PNG image, which is impossible since the file lacks pixels. To share these settings with non-Photoshop users, the best workaround is to convert or extract the internal data into a readable text format like .TXT or .XML. This file format is difficult to open or convert outside of the Adobe ecosystem. Emphasize that often only the original software can properly read or export the data to apply it to a graphic. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your HDT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert HDT file to INI, CFG, CONF, CONFIG, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, ENV, PROPERTIES or RC, you can use Adobe Photoshop or similar software from the "HDR Toning Adjustment Settings" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert ZSHRC, CONF, RCFILE, GITCONFIG, RC, PLIST, BASHRC, CONFIG, PROFILE, INI, PREFS or CFG files to HDT, try Adobe Photoshop or another comparable tool in the "HDR Toning Adjustment Settings" category.
The HDT Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our HDT converter.
