About H3B files

A .H3B file is a preset bundle used by the Line 6 POD HD300 multi-effects guitar processor. It stores a complete collection of guitar amplifier models, effect chains, and tone parameters. Users manage these files using the Line 6 POD HD300 Edit software to back up and transfer hardware settings between their computer and the pedalboard.

The primary disadvantage of the .H3B format is its strictly proprietary nature. It is heavily locked into the Line 6 ecosystem and specifically tethered to the HD300 hardware. You cannot open it natively on standard operating systems or web browsers, and reading the DSP values requires the dedicated Line 6 editor. Users often need to convert these bundles to share presets with musicians using different hardware (like the POD HD400 or HD500) or to extract the configuration data into a readable format without turning on the physical device.

Conversion targets are highly specific. The best pragmatic approach is extracting the raw data to TXT or XML to read parameter values manually. Converting to audio formats like WAV or MP3 is physically impossible because the file contains mathematical settings and routing data, not actual recorded sound.

This file format is exceptionally difficult to convert because it is a closed, proprietary binary data bundle. Often, only the original Line 6 software can properly read, parse, or export the data safely. Standard online converters fail entirely because they lack the specific DSP mapping algorithms required by guitar hardware. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or extracting the preset logic may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your H3B file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
