The .h15 file is a proprietary data container created by the 2015 edition of H&R Block Canada tax preparation software. It stores personal financial information, income slips, deductions, and final tax return data for the 2015 Canadian tax year. This format is heavily restricted. It is a proprietary, closed system designed to prevent data tampering and protect sensitive personal information. You cannot open a .h15 file with web browsers, standard document viewers, or basic text editors. Even modern versions of H&R Block software cannot open these files natively; they only allow you to import the data to carry forward basic details into a new tax year. The biggest disadvantage of the .h15 format is software lock-in. If you do not have the legacy 2015 software installed on a compatible operating system, your data is trapped.
