About GET files
The .GET file extension is primarily used as an Allplan Layout Element file in Allplan, a Building Information Modeling (BIM) platform developed by Nemetschek. These files store architectural drawing layouts, structural blocks, and specific design elements used in complex construction planning. Alternatively, some .GET files function as 3D printer files for specialized slicing software and hardware. The .GET format is highly proprietary and closed. It cannot be opened by standard image viewers, web browsers, or competing CAD software like AutoCAD without specialized import tools. Sharing a raw .GET file with a client or contractor usually fails because they lack an active, expensive Allplan subscription to view it.
