About FTIL files

The .FTIL file format functions as a digitally signed financial document utilized primarily within the Indian securities market, regulated by SEBI. These files frequently serve as e-Hastakshar (electronic signature) contract notes distributed by brokers to clients. They are typically verified through official financial portals or read using Adobe Acrobat to validate the embedded cryptographic signatures.

The main disadvantage of an .FTIL file is its highly obscure, regional nature. Standard document viewers and mobile web browsers fail to recognize the format, leaving users unable to read their own contract notes without logging into specialized broker platforms. The extension acts as a proprietary wrapper that confuses standard operating systems.

Because the internal file format is actually a standard ZIP container, the best conversion target is a ZIP archive. By extracting the archive, you can usually access the underlying PDF files for human-readable text or XML files containing raw financial data. Converting or extracting these files means you may lose the cryptographic validation layer, but you will gain readable access to the document.

This file format is difficult to open because it is specifically designed to secure data, rather than share it openly. Often, only the original financial software or broker portal can properly validate the e-Hastakshar signature.

Convert.Guru analyzes your FTIL file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
