About FPMO files

The .FPMO file format stores Map Overlay data for FPS Creator, a legacy 3D game development engine created by The Game Creators. It holds layout parameters, graphic references, and configuration settings for HUDs (Heads-Up Displays) and 2D overlays superimposed over 3D map environments. This file is natively opened and managed by the FPS Creator editor. Modern game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine cannot read it natively. The .FPMO format is highly proprietary, closed, and increasingly obsolete. It locks your map data into an aging engine that is no longer actively supported. Opening it outside of FPS Creator is extremely difficult with standard software, and traditional online converters cannot process it because the format lacks public documentation. Directly converting a .FPMO file to standard visual formats like PNG or standard code formats like XML is usually impossible because the file stores engine-specific coordinates and asset pointers rather than raw image pixels. This file format is difficult to open or convert. Emphasize that often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your FPMO file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The FPMO Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FPMO converter.
