About FLWA files

The .FLWA file is an encrypted database container created by Folder Lock. It functions as a digital wallet, storing sensitive personal information such as credit card details, bank account numbers, and passwords.

This format has significant disadvantages for data portability. It is closed and highly proprietary. The contents are locked behind AES-256 encryption, meaning the file cannot be opened by web browsers, standard text editors, or competing password managers like Bitwarden or 1Password. You must use the original Folder Lock software on a Windows PC to access the data. If you forget your master password, the file becomes permanently useless.

Users typically need to convert .FLWA files when migrating away from Folder Lock to a modern cloud-based password manager. The ideal target formats are CSV or TXT, which can be imported into almost any other credential system. However, standard online converters fail to process .FLWA files because the data is cryptographically locked. While direct cloud conversion of an encrypted .FLWA is impossible without the password, our analyzer can inspect the file headers, confirm its integrity, and verify that the file is not corrupted before you attempt to open it locally.

Convert.Guru analyzes your FLWA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
