About FEEDBACK files

The .feedback file is an obsolete data container created by Microsoft Expression SketchFlow, a discontinued prototyping tool inside Microsoft Expression Blend. During its peak, developers used SketchFlow to build Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Silverlight app mockups. When sent to clients via the SketchFlow Player, reviewers could leave redline markups, drawings, and text annotations directly on the UI screens. These comments were packaged into a single .feedback file and sent back to the design team. Today, this file presents a major roadblock. Expression Studio was discontinued in 2012. You can no longer easily download or run the software required to natively import and overlay these comments onto their original FLOW project files. Standard document converters completely fail to read them because the format relies on proprietary XML structures tied to specific application states and node IDs. The data is functionally orphaned. If you are stuck with an old .feedback file, your best workaround is data extraction. While recreating the visual overlays is impossible without the original project, our tool can analyze the file's internal structure. We attempt to extract the raw text comments and XML data so you can salvage the stakeholder feedback into readable formats like TXT or XML.
