About FCA files
The .FCA file format primarily functions as a power quality data log created by Fluke Power Log software. Electrical engineers use these files to store granular voltage, current, and electrical anomaly data captured by Fluke hardware meters. Alternatively, an .FCA file can be an animation archive used by Adobe Animate (formerly Flash) to store character rigs, or an encrypted PDF utilized by specialized secure document workflows.
The main disadvantage of the .FCA format is its heavily locked-in, proprietary nature. Fluke data files require heavy, specialized desktop software to view or analyze the logged metrics. You cannot natively open these files in web browsers or standard spreadsheet tools. Similarly, Adobe Flash character files are locked into the Adobe ecosystem and are effectively useless without an active Creative Cloud subscription.
For data analysis, the best target format is CSV or XLSX. For animation files, converting to a standard video format like MP4 or extracting the underlying raw image assets is preferred. Standard online converters almost always fail to process .FCA files because they lack the specific decoders for Fluke's proprietary Microsoft Compound structure or Adobe's customized ZIP-based asset packaging.
Because this is a closed, proprietary format, often only the original software can properly read or export the data. Our analyzer can peek inside the Microsoft Compound or ZIP containers to show text, raw data streams, or embedded files. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your FCA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The FCA Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FCA converter.
