About F7 files
The .F7 file is a binary firmware update file used exclusively by motherboards manufactured by Gigabyte Technology. The extension literally denotes the BIOS version number (Version F7). These files contain low-level machine code that dictates how the computer's hardware initializes during the boot process.
To apply this file, users typically rely on Gigabyte's built-in Q-Flash utility accessible from the UEFI/BIOS environment, or the DOS-based Flash Programming Tool.
Users often attempt to convert or open .F7 files because their operating system does not recognize the format natively. A major disadvantage of this format is its strict hardware dependency; flashing an .F7 file intended for a different motherboard revision can permanently brick the hardware. Furthermore, since it is a raw binary image, it contains no human-readable text and lacks any built-in OS preview capabilities.
Converting an .F7 file to a standard document format like PDF or TXT is technically impossible and serves no practical purpose. It is a closed, proprietary binary file. Standard online converters fail to process it because they expect standard media or document structures, not compiled motherboard ROM data.
However, convert.guru can still be highly useful. Just drag and drop your file to identify the format, view its hexadecimal signature, and inspect the binary header. If our analysis detects the embedded manufacturer strings, we can confirm whether the file is a legitimate BIOS update before you risk flashing it to your motherboard.
Convert.Guru analyzes your F7 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted F8 and F6 files.

The F7 Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our F7 converter.
