An .EZS file is a batch script created for EZ-R Stats, an obsolete data analysis and auditing application. These files contain plain text instructions used by auditors and researchers to automate complex statistical tasks, data classification, and fraud detection operations (such as testing conformity with Benford's Law).
Because EZ-R Stats for Windows is entirely discontinued, opening and executing these files on modern machines is incredibly frustrating. Users cannot simply run the script anymore, and standard conversion tools completely fail to recognize this obscure format. As a result, users are often left with legacy files that lock away important historical audit logic.
The most practical workaround is to convert the .EZS file into readable text formats. We recommend extracting the data to TXT, MD (Markdown), or PDF. While you will lose the ability to execute the script automatically, you preserve the underlying commands and statistical parameters, which can then be manually translated into modern coding environments.
