Extract text from ENZ files

To convert other file formats to the "Encrypted Archive" file type, you need software like Cobian Reflector or a similar tool.
The .ENZ extension primarily represents an Encrypted Backup Archive generated by Cobian Backup or its successor, Cobian Reflector. These files are essentially compressed archives (similar to ZIP) that have been secured with standard or military-grade encryption (AES 128/256) to protect sensitive data during automated backups.
A common problem for users is that .ENZ files cannot be opened by standard archivers like WinRAR or 7-Zip directly; they require the proprietary "Decompressor" utility built into the Cobian software suite and the original password. Without the password, the data is virtually inaccessible. Users typically need to convert these into standard ZIP files or extract the raw contents (documents, images) for restoration purposes.
Alternatively, an .ENZ file may be an EndNote Connection File used by EndNote (developed by Clarivate) to define search protocols for online bibliographic databases. These are small configuration text files, not archives. Users rarely "convert" these but may need to edit them as TXT to modify Z39.50 connection parameters or import them into updated versions of the software.
