An .ekv file is an Encrypted Key-Value data file primarily used by the War Thunder video game to store hardware benchmark results. A secondary, less common use is by Valve's Source Engine to store encrypted video configuration settings.
These files are highly proprietary and completely encrypted. This is a major disadvantage for gamers who want to review their hardware benchmark metrics, track performance over time, or share custom video configurations. Because the data is locked down, you cannot simply open an .ekv file with a standard text editor like Notepad. Trying to open it manually will only reveal scrambled characters.
