To convert other file formats to the "Ransomware Encrypted File" file type, you need software like Emsisoft Decryptor or a similar tool.
The .EIUR file is a standard user file that has been maliciously encrypted by a variant of the STOP/Djvu ransomware. When a computer is infected, this malware targets personal documents, images, and videos, scrambles their internal data using advanced encryption algorithms, and appends the .eiur extension to the filename.
Users cannot open these files with standard software. Specialized security tools from companies like Emsisoft are required to attempt decryption. The main disadvantage of this format is that your data is locked. You cannot view the content, and it requires a unique private key to unlock.
The goal is to restore the file to its original format, such as DOCX, JPG, or MP4. However, standard online converters fail to process .EIUR files because the internal data structure is entirely scrambled. Renaming the extension will not work.
This is a highly restrictive, closed format. Often only the original decryption tool and key can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible, but realistic recovery requires dedicated offline decryption keys.
