Convert EET to another file type
To convert EET databases to another format, you need ESP/ESM Translator or other Database software.
Convert a file to EET
To convert other file formats to the "Game Mod Translation Data" file type, you need software like ESP/ESM Translator or a similar tool.
About EET files
.EET files are proprietary database files created by ESP/ESM Translator, a popular community utility developed by Epervier 666. These files are used to localize and translate mod files for Bethesda games like Skyrim and Fallout. They store translated text strings, custom dictionaries, and project configurations necessary to generate target ESP, ESM, or STRINGS files.
The primary disadvantage of the .EET format is its strictly proprietary nature. It locks your localized data inside a closed ecosystem. You cannot open an .EET file natively in Windows, macOS, or standard text editors. This causes significant friction when trying to share translation work with editors who do not have the specific modding software installed. Translators frequently need to convert these databases into standard formats like CSV, TXT, or XML to allow for collaborative editing in generic spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Because this is a closed, undocumented format, standard online converters fail to process it. Usually, only the original ESP/ESM Translator can properly read or export the structured data. We can inspect the file and show text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying database structure or embedded plaintext arrays, viewing or partial string extraction may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your EET file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert EET file to IST, EST, UTC, CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG or CONF, you can use ESP/ESM Translator or similar software from the "Mod Translation Database" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to EET, try ESP/ESM Translator or another comparable tool in the "Mod Translation Database" category.
The EET Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our EET converter.
