About EBACMD files

An .EBACMD file is a command configuration file used by the now-discontinued EBA Command Center, a Windows application designed to create custom system shortcuts. These files store specific system commands, website URLs, and file paths intended to be triggered exclusively within the EBA environment.

The biggest disadvantage of the .EBACMD format is that the native software is entirely obsolete. The format creates complete vendor lock-in; without the original application installed, you cannot execute the shortcuts directly. Users are frequently left with unassociated, dead files that modern operating systems cannot natively run or understand.

Fortunately, the underlying architecture of an .EBACMD file is simply XML-formatted or unformatted plain text. We highly recommend converting these files to TXT or XML. While conversion will not restore their ability to launch programs automatically, it perfectly preserves the internal data so you can manually extract the target URLs or command strings.

Because the extension is extremely obscure, most conventional online converters fail to recognize it and refuse to process the upload. Once we identify the embedded plain text or XML, viewing or conversion is seamlessly supported so you can extract the configurations you need.

Convert.Guru analyzes your EBACMD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
