About E2GM files
A .e2gm file stores a custom game level created for the 3D physics puzzle game Enigmo 2, developed by Pangea Software. These files contain user-generated puzzle layouts, physics parameters for water, plasma, and laser streams, and object placement coordinates.
The main disadvantage of the .e2gm format is its highly proprietary nature. It is heavily locked into the Enigmo 2 ecosystem and cannot be opened natively by web browsers, operating systems, or standard 3D modeling tools. It requires a specific, outdated game engine to render the puzzle environment.
Users often attempt to convert .e2gm files into OBJ, FBX, or ZIP archives to extract the 3D meshes or level data. Standard online converters fail to process it because the internal structure is closed and undocumented.
Because this file format is difficult to open or convert, often only the original software can properly read or export the data. We can inspect the binary data to show raw text, identify the exact signature, and extract embedded content if the underlying data structure is recognized.
Convert.Guru analyzes your E2GM file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The E2GM Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our E2GM converter.
