To convert other file formats to the "Tax Reporting File" file type, you need software like Declaration (Декларация) or a similar tool.
The .dc1 filename extension typically identifies a Russian Tax Declaration file created by the Declaration (Декларация) software. These files contain structured data for annual tax returns (such as Form 3-NDFL) and are generated by the official software provided by the Federal Tax Service of Russia. Users typically encounter these files when saving their progress in the "Declaration" program before final submission.
The main limitation is that .dc1 files are proprietary data containers, not documents. You cannot double-click to open them in Microsoft Word, Excel, or standard PDF viewers. They require the specific version of the Declaration software matching the tax year (e.g., Declaration 2024) to interpret the data correctly. For archiving or printing, the best practical workflow is to open the file in the original software and export it to PDF. If you need to migrate the data to other systems, converting to XML is often the only viable technical path.
In a completely different context, a .dc1 file may be a CAD drawing created by DevCad. These are 2D engineering or model airplane designs. Unlike the tax files, these can be directly converted to standard interchange formats like DXF for use in AutoCAD or PDF for easy sharing.
