The .data_0 file is an internal data storage container. It is primarily used by Allplan, a leading BIM and CAD software developed by the Nemetschek Group, to handle file transfer data between system components. Alternatively, this extension is heavily utilized as a generic SQLite database file by various applications for local caching or configuration storage.
To open a .data_0 file, you usually need the parent application that created it, such as Allplan. If the file is an SQLite database, you can inspect it using DB Browser for SQLite.
Because .data_0 is a generic extension used for backend data, it lacks standardization. It is highly proprietary and undocumented when generated by Allplan, meaning it cannot be opened by standard text editors or web browsers. If it is separated from its parent application or main project folder, it becomes useless orphaned data.
Converting a .data_0 file directly is challenging. If it is an SQLite database, you might export tables to CSV or SQL. If it is an Allplan binary cache, conversion to standard CAD formats like DWG or DXF is impossible without the original software.
