About DACONFIG files
The .daconfig file is a configuration document utilized by the Data Abstract multi-tier database framework. It stores database connection parameters, schema rules, and server configurations required for the framework to operate.
This format has significant practical disadvantages. It is highly proprietary to RemObjects Software. Outside of their specialized developer tools, the file cannot be natively previewed by operating systems or web browsers. If you need to share database connection strings with a team member who does not have the Data Abstract IDE tools installed, they will be unable to open the file easily. Furthermore, standard online document converters fail to process it because it is not a standard media or document format.
The most practical solution is to convert the .daconfig file to standard text-based formats like XML, TXT, or JSON. This allows the internal data to be read by any developer, tracked in standard version control systems, and viewed in a basic text editor.
Because this is a closed, proprietary developer format, it is difficult to convert automatically without the original environment. Our platform can inspect the underlying structure of the .daconfig file. If our analysis detects the standard XML or plain text formatting typical of these configuration files, viewing or extracting the text content will still be possible without the RemObjects software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your DACONFIG file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The DACONFIG Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our DACONFIG converter.
