The .CVW file extension is a proprietary CaseWare CaseView document used exclusively by CaseWare Working Papers. This format acts as a hybrid between a word processor and a spreadsheet, designed to link trial balance data directly to financial statements.
The primary disadvantage of the .CVW format is extreme vendor lock-in. It is a closed format that requires an expensive software license to open. You cannot view it natively in web browsers, standard office suites, or free text editors.
