About CUID files
The .cuid file is a specialized tracking and telemetry format used by the Baidu SDK. It functions as a Client Unique Identifier, storing device-specific fingerprints to track app installations, user analytics, and active sessions. Typically, these files are automatically generated and accessed by software utilizing Baidu services, such as the Baidu Map SDK or Baidu Push SDK on Android and iOS platforms. Users frequently discover these files occupying local storage space and want to inspect or convert them to understand what data is being tracked. However, standard online converters fail to process .cuid files because they rely on a proprietary, closed format that often contains obfuscated or encrypted binary data rather than standard media. The current format is highly restrictive, heavily tied to the Baidu ecosystem, and provides zero native compatibility with web browsers or text editors. If you need to make the data readable, the best target formats are plain TXT or JSON, provided the file content is unencrypted. Because this file format is difficult to open or convert, often only the original Baidu software can properly read or validate the data. Our platform will inspect the internal structure of the file. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded plain-text format, viewing or data extraction may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your CUID file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The CUID Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our CUID converter.
