About CONFORM files
A .conform file is a proprietary Conformalizer Change List created by The Cargo Cult. It stores mathematical difference data between two versions of a video edit. Audio post-production engineers use this data to automatically update and sync their sound sessions when the picture changes. The file is primarily managed by Conformalizer or its modern successor, Matchbox.
This is a closed, proprietary data format. You cannot open it using standard text editors, and major digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools cannot read it natively. You must purchase an expensive commercial license from the developer to utilize the file. Standard online converters fail to process .conform files because the internal structure and timecode math are unpublished and heavily restricted.
When sharing change data outside the Conformalizer ecosystem, you must export the data to standard EDL, XML, or CSV formats. Manual conversion risks losing specific offset markers or proprietary sync metadata.
Because this file format is highly specialized and difficult to convert, often only the original software can properly read or export the data. We will inspect the file to show any unencrypted text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your CONFORM file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The CONFORM Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our CONFORM converter.
