About COMICDOC files

The .comicdoc file is a proprietary project document created by Comic Life, a desktop publishing application developed by plasq. These files store page layouts, speech bubbles, fonts, and embedded images used to assemble digital comic books or photo albums.

Because .comicdoc is a closed, proprietary format, it presents significant disadvantages for sharing and archiving. It is completely useless unless you have the Comic Life software installed or active. The format cannot be opened natively by web browsers, standard image viewers, or mobile devices. This forces users to rely on a paid application just to view the content.

Most users need to convert these files into standard, shareable formats like PDF or JPG. Converting to CBZ or EPUB is also highly recommended for reading on standard comic viewer apps. However, standard online converters fail to process .comicdoc files because the layout engine and data structure are undocumented and specific to plasq. Often, these files are compressed containers, and our system can extract the embedded JPG or PNG assets, offering a pragmatic workaround for restricted files.

Convert.Guru analyzes your COMICDOC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
