About CMMP files

A .cmmp file is a Camtasia MenuMaker Project file created by TechSmith Camtasia Studio. Users utilized these files to design interactive menus for CD-ROMs, DVDs, or web presentations. The software, Camtasia, is a screen recording and video editing suite, and MenuMaker was an included utility for creating autorun interfaces. The .cmmp format is highly proprietary and now largely obsolete. It requires the original TechSmith software to open. Since it is a project file, it stores layout instructions, button coordinates, and file paths rather than the actual media itself. Users face the problem of accessing old video projects when they no longer have legacy versions of Camtasia installed. Standard web browsers and media players cannot open or read this format.
