About CM10 files

A .cm10 file is a proprietary database file created by CaseMap 10, a specialized litigation support software owned by LexisNexis. It serves as a central repository for legal teams to organize undisputed facts, track a cast of characters, catalog physical evidence, and build chronologies for complex lawsuits.

The main disadvantage of the .cm10 format is its highly restricted, closed ecosystem. It strictly requires an active, paid CaseMap software license to open and read. If an attorney sends a .cm10 file to a client, expert witness, or outside co-counsel who does not use this specific version of CaseMap, they will be entirely locked out of the data. Furthermore, because it functions as a complex relational database, attempting to open it in a standard text editor or generic document viewer yields only unreadable binary garbage.

To share case data universally, the original author must use CaseMap to export the chronologies and fact tables into standard formats like PDF (for printable reports), DOCX (for word processing), or XLSX and CSV (for flat data analysis). Standard online document converters fail here because they cannot parse the proprietary, multi-table schema of a .cm10 file.

Convert.Guru analyzes your CM10 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
