About CHAI files

A .CHAI file is a Chaimera Artwork File created by the obsolete cloud-based design tool, Chaimera (developed by padonko). It contains page layout data, shapes, text, and images used for web and print graphics. Originally, these files were opened by the proprietary Chaimera web suite. Some online directories suggest internal elements might be accessed with Adobe InDesign or Fabric JS, though reliable native support is practically non-existent today. Users need to convert this file because the Chaimera platform is permanently offline, leaving users completely locked out of their old design work. The heavy disadvantage of this format is its reliance on a dead, closed cloud ecosystem. Standard online converters fail to process it because they lack the proprietary rendering engine needed to reconstruct the layout. The best conversion targets are PDF for layout preservation, or PNG and JPG for image viewing. Be aware that converting to raster formats will flatten the file, destroying editable text layers and precise vector geometry. This file format is extremely difficult to open or convert since often only the original software can properly read or export the data.
