About CG3 files

The .CG3 file is a proprietary 3D geometry document created by Cabri 3D, an interactive mathematics software developed by CABRILOG. These files store dynamic three-dimensional geometric constructions used primarily in educational environments to teach mathematics and spatial geometry. Internally, the format is structured using XML to define points, lines, polygons, and their mathematical relationships. The main disadvantage of the .CG3 format is its strict vendor lock-in. It is highly proprietary and cannot be opened by standard 3D modeling software like Blender or AutoCAD. Users must install specific commercial software from CABRILOG to properly view or edit the constructions. Furthermore, it is not supported by web browsers, making sharing assignments difficult without exporting to more accessible formats. For sharing and universal access, it is highly recommended to convert the geometry data to universally readable formats like PDF for static viewing, or export standard vector graphics. Because it is a closed format tied to a proprietary mathematical engine, standard online converters usually fail to process it. Only the original software can reliably render the complex mathematical dependencies.
