About CF4 files

The .CF4 file format serves two very distinct purposes. Most commonly, it is a vehicle data logging configuration file or tuning file used by SCT Performance and their LiveLink software. Automotive tuners use these files to log and analyze engine control unit (ECU) parameters. Alternatively, a .CF4 file functions as a disk content catalog file created by the Cathy cataloging utility or a CD-R image file handled by CDRoller. Users often want to convert .CF4 files to standard formats like CSV or TXT to analyze engine data in standard spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel. However, the current format is highly proprietary and closed. It locks your tuning data into specific Windows-only hardware ecosystems and requires a dedicated hardware connection.
