Extract text from BimSens component configurations (BSXC)

The .BSXC file is a BimSens Component Configuration file created by Striped Horse. It is used to store data connections, user interface layouts, and interaction settings for the BimSens software. BimSens acts as a bridge connecting 3D Building Information Models (BIM) in software like Autodesk Navisworks or Revit to external databases (SQL, Excel, APIs).
Converting a .BSXC file is a common source of frustration. Because it is a highly proprietary configuration file, it does not contain actual 3D geometry or database records. Instead, it only holds the connection strings and rules used by the software. Therefore, you cannot convert a .BSXC file into a 3D model like OBJ or a spreadsheet like XLSX. Attempting to do so with standard online tools will always result in an error.
If you need to extract the connection parameters or review the setup outside of the BIM environment, the best target formats are raw text formats like XML, JSON, or TXT. Converting to these formats will expose the raw code, but you will lose the graphical interface provided by the BimSens plugin.
