The .BMU file extension serves two distinct, incompatible purposes. In the cryptocurrency mining industry, it acts as a proprietary Bitmain Antminer Firmware Update file. Hardware operators use these files with the AntMiner ASIC Miner Tool to update the control boards of ASIC miners. In the gaming world, a .BMU file is a BioWare Aurora Engine audio file, storing background music for classic role-playing games.
