To convert other file formats to the "CAD Batch Processing List" file type, you need software like Acme CAD Converter or a similar tool.
About BCL files
The .BCL file extension is primarily used as a CAD batch conversion list generated by Acme CAD Converter. These files store queues of .DWG or .DXF drawing files designated for automated processing. Secondary uses for the .BCL format include Illumina Base Call files used in DNA sequencing, BlackBerry Enterprise Server compressed log files, and Miracle Box mobile device blacklist logs.
The main disadvantage of .BCL files is their extreme fragmentation and proprietary nature. While a CAD batch list might be a simple UTF-8 text file, an Illumina Base Call file is a massive, complex binary file that requires a dedicated bioinformatics pipeline and heavy computational resources. You cannot simply double-click these files to open them on a standard computer, and they are completely unsupported by native web browsers. They tightly lock your data into their parent ecosystem.
If you need to extract readable data, the target format heavily depends on the source. CAD batch lists are best converted to .TXT or .CSV for spreadsheet viewing. Bioinformatics .BCL files must be processed into .FASTQ files for downstream genetic analysis. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your BCL file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert BCL file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use Acme CAD Converter or similar software from the "Batch Processing Queue List" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to BCL, try Acme CAD Converter or another comparable tool in the "Batch Processing Queue List" category.
The BCL Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our BCL converter.
