About AYT files

The .AYT file is a dual-purpose format. Primarily, it functions as a Quranic resource package used by the Ayat - Al Quran study software developed by King Saud University. These files typically act as compressed archives or databases to store Arabic text, translations, and audio recitations. Alternatively, .AYT files are chiptune music modules created with AY-Tracker software.

The main disadvantage of the .AYT format is its proprietary nature. It locks content inside a specific application ecosystem. Users cannot natively play Ayat audio packages on a standard smartphone media player, nor can they open Ayat databases in a basic text editor. The files are highly specialized and often generate large file sizes when bundling bulk audio, making them difficult to share or adapt for other uses.

To access the locked data, you must convert these files into standard formats. Ayat packages that rely on standard archive structures are best converted to ZIP, allowing you to extract the raw MP3 audio files. If the file is structured as a database, exporting the text to SQL or CSV is the optimal target. For AY-Tracker music files, rendering the module to standard MP3 or WAV is required for normal playback outside the tracker.

This file format is difficult to open or convert because it is a closed, proprietary extension. Multiple completely different internal structures share the exact same file extension. Consequently, standard online converters fail to process it. Just drag and drop your file to convert.guru to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - such as a standard ZIP directory or SQLite database - viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your AYT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted EXE and ZIP files.
