About AXX files
The .AXX file extension is primarily associated with AxCrypt Encrypted Files. A small percentage of these files are also used as Pinnacle Studio Project Packages.
AxCrypt is a popular file security application that uses AES encryption to secure sensitive data. When you encrypt a file (like a PDF or DOCX) with AxCrypt, it wraps the original data in an .AXX container. Alternatively, Pinnacle Studio uses the same extension to bundle video timelines and media assets into a single project archive.
Converting an .AXX file is highly problematic. If it is an AxCrypt file, it is protected by strong military-grade encryption. It requires a password and a premium subscription to access advanced features. You cannot read or convert the contents without the original decryption key. If it is a Pinnacle Studio package, it is a proprietary archive format that only Corel software understands.
To restore your data, you must decrypt the .AXX file back to its original target format using AxCrypt. For Pinnacle projects, you must open the package in Pinnacle Studio and render the timeline to a standard video format like MP4 or MKV.
This format is difficult to process. Standard online converters fail because they cannot bypass encryption or parse closed project environments. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects an unencrypted underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your AXX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert AXX file to BASE64, HEX, BIN, ENC, CRYPT, AES, DES, RSA, PGP, GPG, ASC or KEY, you can use AxCrypt or similar software from the "Encrypted Data Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert CER, BIN, PEM, DER, KEY, P7S, PFX, ENC, P12, BASE64, P7B or HEX files to AXX, try AxCrypt or another comparable tool in the "Encrypted Data Storage" category.
The AXX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our AXX converter.
