Convert a file to AVJ
To convert other file formats to the "Antivirus Job Configuration File" file type, you need software like Avira Antivirus or a similar tool.
About AVJ files
The .AVJ file format is an AntiVir Job file generated by Avira Antivirus. It functions as a configuration file that stores parameters for scheduled virus scans. This includes target directories, heuristics settings, schedule timings, and quarantine rules.
The primary software used to open and execute these files is Avira Antivirus. Because it is a specialized configuration file, it serves no purpose on a computer that does not have the Avira security suite installed.
Users often attempt to convert .AVJ files because they mistakenly assume the "AV" stands for "Audio/Video". This leads to frustration when standard online media converters reject the file. The format is proprietary and strictly limited to antivirus job scheduling. It does not contain media data and cannot be transformed into an MP4 or MP3 file. The primary disadvantage of this format is its strict dependency on a single software ecosystem.
If you need to view the contents, you can convert it to a TXT or XML file, or simply open it in a code editor. This will reveal the plain text rules of the configuration, but it will not make the file executable in other security programs.
Because the .AVJ format is proprietary, standard online converters fail to process it. If our analysis detects a supported underlying text format, viewing or conversion to plain text may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your AVJ file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
