About AF2 files
The .af2 file format serves multiple highly specialized, proprietary functions. It is most commonly associated with Diagnostic Assay Protocols used by Abbott Alinity clinical chemistry analyzers, legacy Micrografx ABC FlowCharter 2 diagram files, or Car Audio DSP Setup configurations created by the Audiotec Fischer DSP PC-Tool. Each of these variations presents severe limitations for modern users. Medical protocol files are strictly locked and closed-source, meaning they cannot be opened outside of Abbott diagnostic hardware. The Micrografx format is completely obsolete; modern vector graphics software and web browsers do not support it natively. Users stuck with legacy flowcharts face massive hurdles trying to extract their diagrams without purchasing specialized software like iGrafx. Furthermore, Audiotec Fischer DSP configurations are hardware-specific binary data files used to tune car audio amplifiers, making them useless without the official hardware connection. Standard online converters fail to process .af2 files because they are obscure, undocumented, and heavily fragmented across completely unrelated industries. Often, only the original legacy software or specific hardware interface can properly read or export the data. For flowchart users, the ideal conversion targets are PDF or standard SVG files to ensure future accessibility, but direct conversion paths are rare. Despite these challenges, you can use convert.guru. Just drag and drop your file to identify the exact format, view its internal metadata, and convert it when possible. Our platform can inspect the underlying hex data to tell you exactly which type of .af2 file you have. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your AF2 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert AF2 file to OBJ, FBX, DAE, 3DS, MAX, BLEND, MA, MB, C4D, STL, PLY or WRL, you can use iGrafx or Audiotec Fischer or similar software from the "Diagram, Setup, or Protocol Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DWG, DAE, X3D, IGES, WRL, JT, SKP, 3DS, 3DM, OBJ, STEP or FBX files to AF2, try iGrafx or Audiotec Fischer or another comparable tool in the "Diagram, Setup, or Protocol Data" category.
The AF2 Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our AF2 converter.
