About ACWW files

The .ACWW file is an Animal Crossing Wild World Pattern File. It stores user-created pixel art designs (like clothing, umbrellas, or town flags) from the classic Nintendo DS game.

This format has severe limitations outside the game. It is a highly proprietary, closed binary format. You cannot open it natively in Windows, macOS, or standard web browsers. It requires specialized community tools or emulators. The image data is extremely low-resolution (typically 32x32 pixels) and mapped to a specific in-game color palette.

Because it lacks standard image headers, regular online converters fail to process it. They do not know how to read the proprietary game data structure. Often, only dedicated community-built pattern editors can properly read or export the pixel data.

If you need to share these designs online, the best conversion targets are PNG or GIF, as these formats support lossless pixel art without blurring. Even when direct conversion is blocked by the proprietary format, our tool can identify the file, inspect the binary content, and extract raw text or hex data to help you understand what is inside.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ACWW file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
