About ZTF files

The .ZTF file is a proprietary DVD Label Template created primarily for Avanquest Digital Video Duplicator and Design & Print software suites. It stores layout instructions, text boxes, and embedded graphics, mapped precisely to standard Avery disc label paper formats.

Users typically run into major roadblocks when trying to share or print these files outside of the original software environment. Because .ZTF is heavily restricted and proprietary, standard web browsers, image editors, and modern print shop systems cannot read it. Furthermore, requiring a legacy or paid Avanquest application just to print a DVD label is an annoying, unrealistic bottleneck.

To bypass these limitations, it is highly recommended to convert the .ZTF file into universally supported formats like PDF, JPG, or PNG. Converting to PDF is the best option because it locks in the precise margin and bleed dimensions required for accurate printing on adhesive paper. While exporting to a flattened format means you lose the ability to edit text layers natively, it guarantees the file can be viewed and printed anywhere.

Because the .ZTF format is closed and undocumented, traditional online converters fail to parse the layout correctly. Most standard tools simply throw an error. Our system inspects the file’s internal structure to extract underlying embedded media like background graphics, allowing you to recover your visual assets even if the exact template layout cannot be perfectly recreated.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ZTF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
