About YBD files

The .ybd file format is a proprietary YobiDrive Link File developed by EZC Group S.A. It is designed to be used with the YobiExplorer desktop application to act as a secure shortcut pointing to remote documents or folders hosted on the YobiDrive enterprise cloud platform. The major disadvantage of the .ybd format is that it does not contain your actual document, image, or video data. It is purely a small pointer file containing metadata and reference links. If you no longer have access to your YobiDrive account or if the corporate server is offline, the underlying files are permanently inaccessible. Because the actual payload is missing, standard file converters cannot process a .ybd into a PDF or DOCX. Since this is a closed, proprietary format from a niche platform, recovering the original file is difficult. Our analyzer can help you inspect the internal text or XML to find the hidden URLs, which you can then save as standard TXT or HTML files.

Convert.Guru analyzes your YBD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The YBD Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our YBD converter.
