About XAL files

A .XAL file is an Exient Asset List File used internally by Exient Entertainment. It functions as a master index to track 3D models, textures, audio clips, and other game assets within their proprietary game engine. These files are typically opened and compiled using Exient's internal development tools. The major disadvantage of this format is that it is entirely closed and proprietary. Files are strictly tied to specific game builds, making them extremely difficult to manipulate for the average user or standard game modding tools. Standard online converters fail to process it because the format lacks public documentation. Often, only the original game engine tools can properly read or export the data. When reverse-engineering or modding, you may want to convert this to standard text formats like TXT, XML, or JSON to read the asset pathways. If our analysis detects a supported underlying text or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
