About XAIML files

The .XAIML file extension represents an Extended Artificial Intelligence Markup Language Chatterbot Database File. It is primarily used to store dialogue rules, patterns, and responses for AI chatterbots developed by Devyn Collier Johnson. These files are structured XML documents that feed conversational data into specific AI engines. The main disadvantage of the .XAIML format is its highly specialized and rigid nature. It relies on a custom schema that modern AI platforms like Rasa or Google Dialogflow do not natively understand. Managing large chatterbot databases in a proprietary XML variant also makes bulk editing difficult without specialized bot authoring tools. To make the dialogue data usable elsewhere, you must convert the .XAIML file to standard XML, JSON, or CSV formats.
