About WFC files

The .wfc extension is primarily associated with Windows Connect Now (WCN) configuration files. These are XML-based text files generated by Microsoft Windows to automatically configure wireless network settings. You often encounter them on USB flash drives used to transfer Wi-Fi credentials (SSID and keys) between computers, a feature prevalent in older versions like Windows XP and Vista. While convenient for setup, the format is practically useless for daily tasks; it cannot be opened by standard media players or document editors, and the raw XML data is often unformatted and hard for humans to parse quickly.

A secondary but significant use (approx. 25%) is for World Foundry Campaign files used in classic Sierra city-building games like Zeus: Master of Olympus and Caesar III. These are proprietary binary containers holding campaign data, map layouts, and scenario triggers. Users trying to mod these games or recover old saves often hit a wall because modern editors cannot interpret this legacy binary structure.

Best Conversion Targets:
* For Windows Config: Convert to TXT or XML to easily read your network password and SSID in a standard text editor like Notepad++.
* For Archiving: Print the configuration details to PDF for a hard copy of your network settings.

Convert.Guru analyzes your WFC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
