The .WA2 file format is a custom adventure package utilized by the puzzle-adventure game Wonderland Adventures, developed by Midnight Synergy. These files contain user-generated content, including level maps, custom dialog, logic triggers, and occasionally custom graphics or audio. They are meant to be loaded directly into the game's custom adventure engine to expand gameplay.
To open and play a .WA2 file, users require the original Wonderland Adventures software on a Windows PC. The game's built-in editor creates and exports these files for community sharing.
The primary disadvantage of the .WA2 format is its proprietary, game-specific nature. It cannot be natively opened by standard text editors or graphic viewers, restricting users to playing the content strictly within the Midnight Synergy ecosystem. The files are completely useless on modern mobile devices, macOS, or web browsers without emulation.
Converting a .WA2 file usually means extracting its underlying game assets.
