About VQC files
A .VQC file is a Virtual CD Quick Copy file used primarily by H+H Software to store optical disc emulation data. It captures the exact structure of a physical CD or DVD, allowing users to mount and run discs without physical media. Users historically created these files with the Virtual CD application. Today, the format presents significant disadvantages. It is a proprietary format deeply tied to legacy software, and modern operating systems like Windows or macOS cannot natively mount it. Users are often forced to buy outdated software or face compatibility roadblocks when trying to extract their archived data. For long-term storage, you should convert .VQC files to open standard formats like ISO or IMG, though you may lose specific Virtual CD copy-protection emulation features. This file format is notoriously difficult to open or convert because it utilizes closed-source compression. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your VQC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The VQC Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our VQC converter.
