About V264 files
The .V264 file format is a proprietary video container primarily used by affordable IP security cameras, such as those running the V380 surveillance software and Tenvis IPROBOT3 cameras. You typically use these files to store motion-detected or continuous security footage directly on an SD card. You can natively open these files using the official V380 Player. The primary disadvantage of the .V264 format is its heavily restricted nature. It is a closed, proprietary format. Standard video players like VLC or Windows Media Player cannot play it. If you need to share critical security footage with law enforcement or an insurance company, they will not install an untrusted third-party app just to view a single clip. To make the footage usable, you must convert .V264 files to standard formats like .MP4 or .AVI. Converting to these formats ensures universal playback while keeping the original video quality intact. This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert outside of its native ecosystem. Manufacturers use custom headers to manage timestamps and playback speed, meaning standard online converters usually fail. Often, only the original camera software can properly read or export the data. However, convert.guru can still identify the file format, inspect the file, and show text or internal content. Just drag and drop your file to see what it is. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded H.264 stream, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your V264 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted AVI, CLUB, VPTT, VIDEOPLAYBACK and MP4 files.

The V264 Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our V264 converter.
