About TVLAYER files
A .tvlayer file contains custom broadcast graphic layers used in mimoLive, a live video broadcasting application for macOS. Developed by Boinx Software, these files define the layout, animation, and behavior of lower thirds, scoreboards, and other on-screen overlays for live streams.
The main disadvantage of the .tvlayer format is its strictly proprietary nature. It locks users into the Apple hardware ecosystem and requires a paid mimoLive license. Files cannot be opened by standard web browsers, mainstream video editors like Adobe Premiere Pro, or competing broadcast software like OBS Studio.
Users typically need to convert these files when migrating to cross-platform tools. The best realistic workaround is to open the file in the original software and export the graphical assets as PNG sequences or MOV video files with an alpha channel (ProRes 4444) to retain transparency.
Because .tvlayer is a closed, proprietary package tied to macOS rendering engines, standard online converters completely fail to process it. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. Our deep-scan analysis can inspect the file architecture and often extract embedded text, configuration XMLs, or raw image assets trapped inside.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TVLAYER file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
