About TAX13 files

The .TAX13 file format stores U.S. and Canadian tax return data prepared using the 2013 desktop version of TurboTax, developed by Intuit. It contains highly sensitive financial records, forms, and user inputs for that specific tax year. This format is completely proprietary and heavily structured. You cannot open it natively in web browsers, standard text editors, or standard document viewers. It also cannot be opened by newer versions of TurboTax, as Intuit restricts backwards compatibility to only a few preceding years. Users typically need to convert .TAX13 to PDF for permanent archiving or printing. Unfortunately, because the format is closed and encrypted, standard online converters fail to process it. Usually, only the original TurboTax 2013 software can accurately read the data and export the return. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or extraction of plain text data may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your TAX13 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
