About T13 files

The .t13 file is a tax return data file created by H&R Block tax software for the 2013 tax year. It securely stores personal financial data, completed tax forms, and refund calculations used to file taxes. Users historically opened and edited this file exclusively with the 2013 desktop version of the H&R Block application. Today, this format is highly proprietary and extremely limited. You cannot open a .t13 file with modern web browsers, Microsoft Word, or Excel. Furthermore, the required software is over a decade old, discontinued, and frequently crashes or refuses to install on modern operating systems like Windows 11. Users typically want to convert .t13 to PDF for reading and long-term legal storage, or to CSV to extract raw financial figures. However, this file format is deliberately locked down and difficult to open or convert. Often, only the original 2013 H&R Block software can properly read the data and export it via a 'Print to PDF' function. Because of this, standard online converters fail completely.
